The Varsity Soccer scored its first victory of the season on Thursday defeating the Front Royal Flames, 6-2. The Chiefs dominated the first half and scored early and often against the Flames. Nicholas Leonard scored his first goal of the year just three minutes into the match off of an assist from Carter Levinson. Josh Blake added a goal to give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead at the 14:00 mark of the half. He was assisted by Ryan Dorsch. Just four minutes later Brett Lewin connected with Ryan Dorsch to push the lead to 3-0. The pair would team up again at the 10:00 mark, giving Dorsch his second goal of the match. Brett Lewin got his third assist of the game this time finding Josh Blake (2nd goal) to give the Chiefs a commanding 5-0 lead at halftime.
The Flames came out ready for the 2nd half and scored thier first goal of the game at the 28:00 minute mark of the half. Nicholas Leonard scored his second goal of the game with ten minutes remaining, it was unassisted. The Flames answered back three minutes later to conclude the high scoring affair making it 6-2.
The Chiefs used a total team effort on Thursday. James Noll and Tommy Jenkins played an outstanding game. Eric Stewart shutout the Flames while in goal the 1st half, and got an opportunity to play the field in the 2nd half.
The Chiefs are off until October 9th when they return to action at Hill. Game time is 3:30.
